New resilient rims are 6000 series aluminum, heat-treated, and unique to Fikse products.

Fikse has launched a new series of aluminum rim components as part of the company's forged modular wheel line. The new rims are being manufactured in 17", 18", and 19" sizes and are phasing in across all of Fikse's Forged Modular wheel lineup during the fourth quarter of 2001.

The rims feature a new contour, a superior aluminum alloy and an innovative manufacturing process which maximizes part strength while reducing weight-all vital performance factors to the company's race team and high end aftermarket customers.

The new rims are unique to Fikse and feature 6000 series aluminum rather than the 5000 series common to most other wheel manufacturers. The alloy is treated by a two-stage heat treatment process to optimize the properties of the material. The combination of improved alloy and heat strengthening allows for another major benefit: lighter weight. The new rim-halves reduce wheel weights by up to 5% overall.

The rims also feature a new tapered edge profile which affords increased protection against curb damage while providing a streamlined appearance. The overall shape of the rims is also improved, conforming to the safety bead standards of the Tire and Rim Association.

"It is important that the wheel industry evolve toward quality and higher performance by incorporating advancements in processes, materials, and design, we're not only enhancing our position in the marketplace, but also advancing the state of the art for the modular wheel industry."

In modular wheel construction, two aluminum rim halves are mated to a forged wheel center section to create a strong, lightweight wheel. Fikse helped popularize the technology and now supplies an array of professional race teams and enthusiasts worldwide from it's headquarters in North America. Fikse forged modular wheels are TUV approved in Germany for all Porsche and BMW applications.

Fikse builds a wide variety of wheels in 17", 18", and 19" sizes for professional race teams and driving enthusiasts. For more information, visit www.fikse.com or contact the company at (253) 326 - 4713.
