Fikse wheels on track at 24 Hours of Le Mans

Fikse® wheels have conquered the 71st running of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. An American team, running on American-made Fikse® racing wheels, took First Place in GT class. Alex Job Racing/Petersen Motorsports' Porsche 911 GT3 RS sped to victory with drivers Sascha Maassen, Emmanuel Collard, and Lucas Luhr at the helm.

This victory at Le Mans follows last year's Rolex 24 at Daytona in which six of the top ten class finishers in that legendary challenge also raced on Fikse® wheels. The Le Mans victory is made even sweeter for the wheel manufacturer in that the Profil series is the newest design in the company's product line for both street and racing applications. For Le Mans, the wheels chosen by the Alex Job Racing/Petersen Motorsports' Porsche 911 GT3 RS were Fikse® Profil 13 Race Centerlock wheels.

"Victory at Le Mans is a dream realized for the Alex Job/Petersen team and we are honored to have played a role in their success. In endurance racing, the need for maximum performance combined with the need to survive many punishing hours of racing presents a unique challenge. Durability, reliability, and serviceability matter more than in any other form of racing. Consequently, every component faces the ultimate test: how to achieve utmost performance while enduring for the long haul. The selection of every single component becomes critical. We are thrilled that leading teams routinely select Fikse® wheels as the best for the job," says Fikse.

Dale White, the team's Crew Chief, explained the decision was made to run Fikse® wheels because they are the strongest, lightest aluminum 3-piece wheel available. White began racing with Fikse® wheels during the 2001 American Le Mans season when the team purchased their very first set of Fikse wheels for a race at Laguna Seca. The Fikse® advantages of light weight, rigid design and superior strength reportedly had team drivers flipping a coin to see who would be the one lucky enough to have the team's only set of Fikse® wheels on their car. White now looks forward to completing the remainder of the season on Fikse® Profil wheels saying, "they are an excellent product."

In addition to their exceptional track record, White sums up where the Profil series stands apart from the rest -- design aesthetics, "They're the best looking wheel, for sure." So much so, that after the victory at LeMans, White placed an order for a set of Profil wheels for his own street turbo Porsche.

Fikse® wheels are built from the highest-quality aerospace materials using state-of-the-art construction methods. The wheel centers are crafted from CNC-machined forged aluminum, which is mounted to rim halves also CNC-spun from high-strength aluminum. In addition to racing wheels, Fikse® manufactures and markets wheels for high-performance street vehicles.
